Ruma - "hart" of Srem

Ruma, town I live in for more than twenty years, deserves (more or less) to be presented as good as possible and, of course, I do my best. There is much to say about Ruma's history, thanks to the enthusiasm of a few people who didn't feel sorry for the time spent on observing the history of town from ancient times up to today.

Belive it or not, Ruma is being mentioned in the Bible, in The Second Book of Kings. "Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem and his mother's name was Zebidah the daughter of Pedaiah of Rumah." But, to tell the truth, that was another town with the same name placed on the north of Israel. The ruins of that ancient town are still exist.
