Fighting in a city is the opposite of fighting on open terrain. Here
you don't have good LOS and guns aren't very effective, unless if you put them in some
well hidden spot where they can ambush tanks or defend some small area. In cities, you'll
realize how important infantry is - ambushing tanks, taking and holding victory locations,
scouting... these are just few of jobs which must be performed by infantry. Fighting
in a city actually means fighting house to house - you have to check and clear every
place. To do that, and to keep your infantry alive, that's the art of urban combat! |

INFANTRY is the most
important element in urban war. There is no way you can take VL's in houses with tanks
(guns?!). Make sure you don't expose your infantry too much, and always keep a command
team nearby, otherwise the enemy won't have much trouble to defeat them. |
|
Probably the most lethal are FLAMETHROWERS.
Because of their small range, they have to come close to enemy to attack him. You
can use them to kill large units in very short time, to ambush tanks... In other words,
adding a flamethrower team to your roster is always a good idea when you have to fight
house to house. |

INFANTRY AT WEAPONS
(Bazooka, Panzershreck, Panzerfaust) are also great for taking out enemies tanks. Try to
shoot on the side or back of the tank, where it has the thinest armour. But be careful -
your enemy can do the same with your tanks. So DO NOT send your armoured vehicles far
ahead without the proper infantry support! |

You must define the balanced mixture of infantry and support teams.
Use infantry to find enemy, and armour to destroy him. In this role you can apply tanks,
or even better - SELF-PROPELLED ARTILLERY
(assault guns), such as: German StuH'42, Brumbaar (RR), Wespe (RR), Bison (RR), and
Russian: SU122, SU152, JSU122 & JSU152. Especially these Russian assault guns are
terrible effective against infantry hidden in buildings, AT guns and tanks. The best thing
is that you can destroy or seriously damage any German tank just by shooting on the house
next to it! This means - you don't need a direct LOF on the tank. This is really a great
advantage! |
