Na toj mi ravno Kosovo.

Do jedno drvo, visoko.
Pod njeg mi sedi terzije, more,
On mi šije jeleče.

Tol'ko su šarke na njega
"Oj goro" & "Gusta mi magla"
These two songs are typical example of Kosovo songs (from
area of Kosovo).Used to be performed on fairies. In "Oj goro" performer is
begging the mountain to protect "hajduke" (the brigands used to fight Turks
during the occupation of Serbia) from Turks. The mountain responds it is trying to, but
Turks are taking them away , anyway.
The other song gives description about Kosovo itself and represents the detail about
ancient times everyday life |
