Vladimir Maricic-Biography

Professional career started in 1980.
In 1983. Formed first jazz trio.
In 1986. formed quartet(artbop quartet)
In 1987. Joined Lazar Tosic quintet(famous yugoslav drummer)
In 1988. Formed trio and performed first international jazz festival(Zagreb,International jazz fair,Freddie Hubbard,Phill Woods,Gary Burton etc.)
In 1989. Went to London and played clubs with Brazilian double bass player Ricardo Santos and English drummer Mark Fletcher.

In 1991. Recorded first trio album-"Ornaments" Half of the material from this album was recorded in London. Later ,same year ,went to Stockholm and participated in international bend he led. The band was:Ricardo Sasntos,Gene Calderazzo and L.A. singer Cynthia Utterbach.

The "Paganic Trilogy,his ethno-jazz suite, was released in 1995. For independent label..Performed lots of concerts in Yugoslavia with his quintet"Jazz Alliance".

In 1998. Recorded world fusion project "Ritual". The band was: Dragoljub Đuricic (drums), Peda Milanovic (bass), Sanja Rankovic (vocal),Bokan Stankovic (gajde, pipes, ocarina itd.) i Papa Nik (udaraljke).

November 1988. Zagreb International Jazz Fair (Phil Woods,Freddie Hubbard,Gary Burton performed on festival)

October 1990. Belgrade International Jazz Festival (Dizzy Gillespie,McCoy Tyner and Jimmy Smith performed on festival)

July,1996. – Athens jazz festival(performed with Jazz Alliance quintet)
September 1996.,Munich jazz festival(performed solo concert after performance of Paquito De Riviera).

July 1997. Belgrade Lucky Strike Jazz Festival (performed with trio new material).Lot of famous musicians took a part on festival(Chick Corea with Gary Burton, Paquito De Riviera etc.)
